Explore is a Key stage 4 and 5 provision that offers a wide and varied curriculum to our young people. Since September 2011 we have helped many young students transition into further education and the work environment.
We have many different goals but one that is top of the list is preparing our young people for life outside the school environment.
We have forged links with many different businesses so our young people can be involved in Work Experience. We offer short term placements up to and including placements of a day a week for the whole school year.
College visits are an integral part of our holistic curriculum. We have fostered links with many of the local colleges and organised visits for students to have taster days. These are well run and give our young people the opportunity to experience an average college day. These sessions will help inform our young people on their next choice of education and hopefully aid them in the sometimes difficult transition to their next provision.
Explore Hub seeks at all times to maximise the potential of our students, whatever their needs and abilities, so that all benefit from effective learning opportunities within the school and wider community.
Our educational provision is wide and varied and our curriculum responds to the needs of each particular year group.
We offer Mathematics and English including qualifications at Entry Level Certificate, Functional Skills Level 1&2 and GCSE.
Our vocational subjects include, Motor Vehicle Maintenance, Enviromental Based Land Studies, Hosptitality & Catering and Construction. These courses all offer qualifications based on the BTEC level 1 & 2 which is a perfect start for any young person who is looking to start an apprenticeship in these fields.
In addition to these vocational subjects we also offer Performing Arts, Photography, Art, GCSE PE and the Duke of Edingburgh Award.
We are a flexible provision whose sole aim is to cater for the needs of the individual young person.
