Enjoyment Hub is a Year 8, 9 and 10 student base currently made up of 3 classes. Students are supported in their class by a Teacher and Learning Facilitator. Every morning students have the chance to catch up with their key staff and the Learning Facilitator will work with the class for most of the day.
A rewards programme is provided for students so they can work towards short term and long term goals. Students have enrichment time on a Friday afternoon and a class trip once per term.
Classes follow a timetable covering subjects such as English, Maths, PSHE, Science and PE. Year 10 students will work towards their Entry Level, Functional Skills or GCSE in English, Maths and Science depending on their ability and future aspirations.
Year 10 students have 3 options covering 9 lessons per week. These options currently include:
Environmental Land Base Studies
Sports Leaders and Duke of Edinburgh Award
Hospitality and Catering
Motor Vehicle Maintenance
Year 8 and 9 students have timetable art, music, land studies, forest school and vocational subject each week.
Students can be referred for 1:1 mentoring or small group work to help further develop their social and emotional skills. Students can also be referred for 1:1 Maths and English Tuition.
Last year our students participated on international camps to Kenya and France. Every year students are given the opportunity to participate in a residential camp.
Our aim is to have a transition pathway for every student leaving school. We will support with careers advice, college applications and gaining necessary qualifications to be accepted on a college course or to go on to our Sixth Form provision here at Knowle DGE.
